Article 1: Definitions

In these terms and conditions, the following definitions apply:
A. Event: An event or meeting organized or co-organized by Female Ventures (FV).
B. Participant: Any individual or legal entity who registers in the manner prescribed by FV and purchases a ticket for participation in an event or activity, and whose registration has been accepted by FV.
C. Agreement: The confirmation email or agreement related to the participation in an event or activity organized by FV.

Article 2: Applicability

These general terms and conditions apply to every agreement entered into between FV and a participant.

Article 3: Participation and payment

3.1. Participation in an event requires the purchase of a ticket through FV’s website or Eventbrite. Ticket pricing will be announced per event.
3.2. Prices may be adjusted annually.
3.3. Payments must be made via the FV website according to the specified payment procedure.
3.4. FV reserves the right to deny participation in any activities if payment has not been received.
3.5. Participants without a ticket may still be admitted if the venue’s capacity has not been exceeded and the ticket price is paid at the entrance.
3.6. Cancellation is only allowed within 7 days after registration and payment, and only for urgent reasons.

Article 4: Events

4.1. Events are open to all individuals with a valid ticket.
4.2. Participants without tickets may be admitted under specific conditions as stated above.
4.3. FV reserves the right to cancel an event under exceptional circumstances. This will be communicated via the website and/or social media.
4.4. FV may decide to terminate, suspend, or change an event and its program under exceptional circumstances.
4.5. In case of cancellation, FV is not liable for costs incurred by participants, including travel and ticket expenses.

Article 5: Liability

5.1. Participation in any FV activities is entirely at the participant’s own risk.
5.2. FV is not liable for any damages suffered by participants unless caused by intent or gross negligence.
5.3. FV is also not liable for damage due to destruction, loss, or theft of participants’ property before, during, or after the event.
5.4. Participants indemnify FV against claims from third parties for damages resulting from their actions or omissions.
5.5. If a participant causes damage to FV property or persons/organizations engaged by FV, the participant will be held liable.

Article 6: Privacy

6.1. By participating in an FV event, participants agree to the registration of their personal data, which is only used for event organization purposes.
6.2. Participants may object to receiving information or sharing their data by notifying FV in writing or via email.
6.3. FV complies with the EU GDPR that came into effect in May 2018. Please consult our privacy policy at www.femaleventures.nl.

Article 7: Media consent

By participating, the participant consents to the possible use of their image in print, photography, video, TV, and internet for FV promotional purposes. If a participant objects, they must inform FV in writing or upon arrival at the venue. We provide camera-free zones when requested. Details are included in the event invitation. No compensation will be provided for image use.

Article 8: Email and internet usage

Communication between FV and participants may occur via email. Email and internet use carry risks such as delays, distortion, interception, and viruses. FV is not liable for damages resulting from the use of these technologies.

Article 9 Communication

All participants receive FV’s newsletter and event invitations. Non-participants may subscribe via the website. FV only uses email addresses to share information about its activities and does not share addresses with third parties, except when voluntarily shared within the online platform.

Article 10: Complaints

FV strives to ensure participant satisfaction. In case of dissatisfaction, participants should contact a board member. Contact details can be found at www.femaleventures.nl.

Article 11: Dispute resolution

11.1. In case of disputes between FV and participants, efforts will be made to reach a mutual agreement.
11.2. If no resolution is reached, the court of Rotterdam will have jurisdiction to settle the dispute.

Article 12: Applicable law

All agreements with FV are governed exclusively by Dutch law, regardless of the participant’s country of residence.

Article 13: Final provision

These terms and conditions came into effect on June 1, 2018, in line with the new EU privacy regulations.
