We are seeking an experienced leader to join our Executive Board in a voluntary capacity and provide leadership and oversight across our people, city operations, and organisational backbone.
What is Female Ventures?
Female Ventures is a Netherlands-based non-profit foundation that has been empowering women in their professional journeys for 10 years. Founded in 2016, we have grown into a national platform with over 1500 members across five cities in the Netherlands, driven by a committed volunteer leadership community.
The Role
This is a senior Executive Board role with hands-on involvement when needed.
You combine board-level responsibility with practical contribution, working closely with City Directors and other volunteers to strengthen leadership, improve ways of working, and ensure the organisation functions smoothly across its Dutch city network.
You lead effectively through others, while being willing to roll up your sleeves where it matters most – particularly during periods of growth, transition, or complexity.
What you will focus on
- Acting as the Executive Board counterpart to City Directors across the Netherlands, providing guidance, challenge, and practical support
- Strengthening leadership quality, alignment, and accountability across city teams
- Being actively involved in City Director recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning
- Shaping and improving structures, rhythms, and core processes, including key playbooks that enable consistency and quality across cities
- Identifying organisational risks, capacity gaps, or misalignment early, and helping resolve them
- Contributing both strategically and practically to decisions on growth, professionalisation, and future structure
Who is this for
This role is well suited for a woman who:
- Has 15+ years of professional experience and a strong leadership track record
- Enjoys combining strategic oversight with hands-on problem-solving
- Brings calm authority, sound judgement, and people leadership maturity
- Thinks in systems, and is comfortable translating ideas into action
- Wants to give back through meaningful, high-impact volunteer board work
Prior board or non-profit experience is an advantage.
Practicalities
- Netherlands-based role, with regular presence at events
- Time commitment: approximately 2–4 hours per week
- Term: minimum of 2 years
