[National Team] Female Ventures for Girls Director

Female Ventures for Girls is a new initiative under the Female Ventures umbrella, designed to inspire and empower young women aged 12-18. Through career exploration events at schools, such as our pilot Career Exploration Day, the program aims to bridge the gap in career exposure, address gender biases, and introduce girls to diverse female role models in underrepresented fields.

The initiative is currently in the early piloting phase in The Hague area, and we are seeking a Team Director (volunteer) to lead its expansion and roll out the program nationally.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteering as the Team Director for Female Ventures for Girls, you will be responsible for the areas below. Once you start to build your team, some of these responsibilities can be delegated. 

  • Develop and scale the initiative: Shape the vision, strategy, and roadmap for FV for Girls, ensuring alignment with Female Ventures’ broader goals.
  • Pilot implementation: Oversee the pilot program in The Hague area, ensuring its success and extracting key learnings.
  • Build team: Define the volunteer roles needed for the program and hire new team members
  • Funding: Build and execute the funding strategy in close cooperation with the Treasurer of FV
  • Expand nationally: Drive the rollout of the program across The Netherlands, establishing partnerships with schools and stakeholders in new regions.
  • Build relationships with schools: Establish and maintain partnerships with educational institutions with whom to implement the program
  • Organize career exploration events: Plan and execute the Career Exploration Day and similar events, coordinating logistics, speakers, and student engagement as a standalone FV event or as part of a school event.
  • Curate role models and speakers: Recruit inspiring female professionals from underrepresented industries to participate in events.
  • Promote the initiative: Collaborate with Female Ventures’ marketing team to create communication materials targeting schools, students, and stakeholders.
  • Measure impact: Collect feedback from students, teachers, and schools to evaluate program success and identify areas for improvement.

Ideal Profile

We’re looking for a candidate who embodies the following qualities:

  • Fluency in Dutch: Essential for liaising with schools, parents, and students, and for organizing events in Dutch-speaking environments.
  • Passion for empowerment: A strong commitment to addressing gender disparities and inspiring young women to pursue ambitious career paths.
  • Strategic vision and execution: Ability to scale the initiative nationally, balancing high-level planning with hands-on implementation.
  • Networking prowess: Ability to connect with professionals from various industries and bring them onboard as role models or speakers.
  • Hands-on and proactive: A “can-do” attitude with the ability to juggle multiple tasks while staying focused on outcomes.
  • Availability: Dedicate approximately 2-4 hours per week to activities for at least 2 years.
  • Event planning skills: Demonstrated ability to organize and manage events, ensuring smooth execution and impactful experiences.
  • (Preferred) Educational sector expertise: Ideally, you have experience working within or with schools, and a network of educators or administrators to leverage for the program.
